LOCAL CRYOTHERAPY
What is local cryotherapy?
Unlike whole body cryotherapy, local cryotherapy allows you to focus on and work on one specific area of the body.
We perform this service with a hand-held device.
We use a patented solution that is unique in Estonia, which allows the cold to penetrate deep into the tissue layers.
Who is local cold treatment for?
Our clients are both professional and amateur athletes, as well as ordinary people who want to accelerate the recovery of a single body area and improve their mobility and general well-being.
How does local cryotherapy work?
Short-term exposure of a certain area of the body to severe cold causes the blood vessels to narrow first and then to dilate.
The process improves the blood supply and “directs” healing enzymes and “life-supporting” hormones to the problem area of the body.
The thermal shock of the cells triggers an emergency response in the body. As a result of the body’s reactions, inflammation is reduced, pain and muscle tension are relieved, and collagen production is accelerated.
Thermal shock helps to remove anything that is not part of the skin tissue, be it an infection or a disorder caused by toxins, bacteria, virus or fungi.
Why do athletes use local cryotherapy?
For athletes, the goal of therapy is to fight inflammation, reduce swelling and pain, accelerate recovery from injuries, and speed up their return to training and competition.
Although there are other ways to help achieve these goals (physiotherapy, massages, etc.), this method stimulates the body in a way that remains inaccessible with more traditional methods.
Many people combine cold therapy with other recovery activities.
When is local cryotherapy better than whole body cryotherapy?
In some situations, local cryotherapy may be a better option than whole body cryotherapy.
The most common cases are:
- If the person cannot stand up, e.g. with sprains of the ankle
- If the customer prefers to sit or lie down comfortably
- If the person have cardiovascular disease
- If the person is afraid to have whole body cryotherapy
- If there are problem areas on the face because the affected area is not covered by whole body cryotherapy
Local cold treatment:
- Reduces inflammation and swelling
- Relieves muscle and joint pain
- Improves mobility and flexibility
- Relaxes muscle tension
- Reduces cellulite
- Accelerates injury recovery and postoperative recovery
- Mitigates skin diseases caused by fungi and bacteria
- Improves local blood circulation
Local cold treatment for the face
Cooling of the facial skin intensifies microcirculation in the bloodstream, which dilates the blood vessels and capillaries that remove toxins from the skin.
The process accelerates the supply of oxygen to the skin cells, which in turn stimulates collagen production and promotes cell turnover.
It helps reduce wrinkles and makes pores smaller.
The anti-inflammatory properties
of cryotherapy are useful in a
variety of skin conditions.
